So first of all this topic was so interesting. Personally, I had never explored or researched this topic. This topic is controversial because a lot of farmers will suffer and maybe who knows the future generation. '' A podcast is a great way to develop relationships with hard to reach people''- Tim Paige.
The best choice made was that Marianna created a podcast to transfer her message out there. Every podcast has something it's trying to convey to an audience. This can be anything from a specific political viewpoint to sharing knowledge about a particular topic. In this particular podcast episode, her intentions were to raise awareness of what is happening in Malta with regard to this subject. I like the fact that she talked and explained everything in the mother's tongue. She sounded confident while speaking and I watched it and re-watched it again.
From the podcast itself, I notice that she did a lot of research and mentioned a lot of reliable sources. '' The more one is conscious of one's bias, the more chance one has of acting politically without sacrificing one's aesthetic and intellectual integrity''- George Orwell. In this particular project, I do not believe that there was bias. I liked the fact that she interviewed different people from different entities. Once people can view the issue and situation both from their own perspective and the other persons' perspectives, they can more easily find mutually beneficial solutions. In this case, she interviewed those particular people to see what is their say about this subject.
With regards to visuals, I like the fact that she named the person that she interview. If it was published in the public, that would have made it much easier. This is especially when there is someone that has no clue about who these interviewers are. Personally, I would have made something different with regards to visuals. Time was very limited due to other assignments. If I would create a podcast, I would do a different perspective as Marianna did. I would record the interview in a podcast room and make it more interesting. Then again time and resources were limited.
The background music chosen was a great choice. Overall, research shows that listening to music and background noise can offer various benefits, including improved cognitive performance, improved task performance, improved concentration, increased energy levels, and improved mood. The audio of the interviewers sounded great. There was only one thing that I want to point out. To a certain extent, the background music was a little bit higher and the voice of Malcolm did not sound that clear. Apart from that, I do not think that I have anything else to add with regard to audio and visuals.
Something different that I would have done from what Marianna did, but of course like I stated before that we were limited. Podcasts usually are about thirty minutes or more. I would have found it so interesting listening to it especially since this is a topic that I do not know so much about. Another thing that maybe could have been done differently was with regards to interviews. If there was enough time, interviewing other people would have made it more intriguing.
