Budget of 2021

The aim of the Budget 2021 is to make Malta stronger as a community. In fact, this year's title is; the Maltese citizens stronger ahead.


With regards to the education sector, several new measures have been mentioned. There will be a modernization in the secondary school of Santa Lucija. A building will be built, where it will be used as a theater with a capacity of over 450 people. This project costs about 4 million. A new sports complex will also be built at the University of Malta. A new primary school will also be built in Msida. It will have various technology and sports facilities. This project will also include a public library that can be used by the local community. In addition to this, there will also be what is considered to be the green wall as the façade of the school. It will also be extended to yards. This investment will cost around ten million.


There will also be restoration of the art school in Belt Valletta. There will be a lot of changes to lighting and water systems. This building was built during the time of the Order of St. John. It will be made accessible to everyone and lifts will also be introduced for everyone to use it. This project will be worth five million. Apart from school and education measures in Malta, measures have also been introduced in Gozo. A new school will be built in Victoria Gozo. This school will accommodate about 400 students. In this building there will also be kindergarten, a child protection center and several sports facilities with an investment of almost ten million.


Last and not least there is the last measure in the education sector. This is free internet for young people that continue their studies. Free internet will be provided for one year for those students who continue to study at post-secondary level. A direct quote that the Minister of the education Owen Bonnici is "During 2020, we will be working towards an extensive consultation focusing on the better cultural use of Pjazza Teatru Rjal, which will look into maximizing this unique cultural location's potential so that it will better serve its role in our country's cultural and artistic calendar. We will also be introducing a new cultural policy, which will reflect our aims with regards to the sector's growth, accessibility and sustainability,"
