Joe Biden and Donald Trump - Task 2

The local news TVM posted an article about Joe Biden and Donald Trump with the title; Joe Biden wins US Presidential Election. It was uploaded on the 7th of November by the reporter Adrian Spiteri. The article begins by stating the fact that Joe Biden acquired just under 75 million votes. The reporter basically describes the vote counting and what Joe Biden stated. This type of journalism used in this article is narrative , since he is describing what was happening. He stated that when he takes the Oath in January, Biden will become the 46th President of the United States and his Vice President will be Kamala Harris, the first dark-complexioned female of Asian origins who will occupy this position. Biden has also thanked all the Americans that voted for him. There were many obstacles but all of these turned out into a record with regards to the votes. The medium used in this report is multimedia since it was published online by TVM. The message is mainly about foreign affairs. Adrian Spiteri also stated that at the same time as these matters were developing, President Donald Trump was playing golf and, in a tweet, said he had won the election. Joe Biden is 77 years-old and between the 2009 and 2017, he was the vice president of Barak Obama. When the results came out, the Democrats were celebrating in streets and the Republicans were protesting and some had also armaments. From what I researched, this article has no biases. One could also see that there was no opinion as well. The reporter just stated the facts as they truly are without hiding anything.

The second article that I researched is an international article of CNN. The posted an article with the title; Biden defeats Trump in an election he made about character of the nation and the President. It was posted on the 8th of November by the reporters Stephen Collinson and Maeve Reston. The article begins by stating that America has chosen Joe Biden, ''turning at a time of national crisis to a man whose character was forged by aching personal tragedy and who is pledging to restore calm and truth after Donald Trump's exhausting and manic single term''. This article is mainly describing what happend during victory speech and there are even direct quotes from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It can be considered as political journalism. One of the reporters, Stephen Collinson is a reporter for CNN Politics covering the White House, and politics across the United States and around the world. And the other reporter with the name of Maeve Reston, is a national political reporter for CNN. These that I am going to mention is one of the statement that the reporters published in the article. "There will not be blue states and red states when we win. Just the United States of America," Biden said Wednesday afternoon. "We are not enemies. What brings us together as Americans is so much stronger than anything that can tear us apart." At the end of the article, one can see that the reporters gave some brief information about Joe Biden and the future that is mainly dominated by the Covid19 pandemic. The medium used in this report is multimedia, since it was published online by CNN. The message is mainly about political values and what actually was happening both from Joe Biden's part and Donald Trump. Trump, who was on the golf course and he tweeted like this on Twitter: "I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!"

TVM has also remained as the most viewed channel with 41.4% of viewers following the national station.
